This is going to take me a year to back things up at this rate.

Oh dear, I'm taking this recording every single journey a bit far.

I know technically it's now Monday, but it made more sense to me.

The Police were parked outside with a van and a car so stopped me from parking.

Time for my annual blog post.....which I seem to have skipped the past few years.

Monday, October 20, 2014

Well that computer that I thought was fast in May 2012 and then slow in March 2013 has now just about ground to a halt in October 2014. And nearly two years on from that temporary move to the living room it is still here. And has been joined by a 4 foot tall photocopier. 2 foot wide and 3 foot deep.

I can no longer see my tv - which doesn't matter anyway as the satellite hasn't worked since the summer.

Oh yeah - the tv licensing people are coming to visit me as I've ignored all their letters regarding a tv licence they say I don't have. And when they arrive I will show them I've had a tv licence since 1990.....and I've kept every single one of them.

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Well that computer that I thought was fast in May 2012 is now slow in March 2013.
And it's back into the living room. Was only meant to be a temporary removal back to the living room but that was November and this (as I've already said) is now March.

Computer mice don't last lone these days. Bought one on Wednesday and by Friday the middle button no longer works. I know I have smashed up my fair share of them over the years but this one I treated with respect. What do I expect for £3 ?

Wednesday 2nd May 2012. Might have an apple before going to bed - if I do that would add 63 calories and £0.27 to the totals.

My refurbished laptop

Bought a laptop off of Ebay.
Here's its specifications.

Morrisons shopping

Been to Morrisons tonight. Not much changes. One week I buy eggs but no tomatoes.

One week I buy tomatoes but no eggs.
I've resurrected a scanner. It is an all-in-one scanner/printer/fax but the printer side of things doesn't work anymore. It has just sat on a  table gathering dust but I thought I'd see if it still works. Now I'm using Windows 7 things are fairly easy unlike in the past.
So here's what I've had today. What isn't recorded on this page is the two cups of coffee. I must be one of the few people in the world that doesn't know what they are eating that evening until they look it on on the spreadsheet.

My weight - I've now lost three stone since starting this weight loss regime. It isn't so much a diet - I'm just watching what I eat now. Before I just crammed food in and didn't think of the consequences.
I've bought another "temporary" computer. The last one lasted 2¾ years. As I now have two computers on the go at the same time all my stuff is now shifted back into the bedroom where I will be doing most of my work now. No doubt the living room computer will be replaced and I move back in there. I don't know why I just can't stick to the one room. Maybe if things really were wireless I would be able to.

It's a great feeling having a new computer where everything is fast. It's there in an instant. No longer having to wait and wait and wait. I realise just how slow the other computer is while working with both at the same time.

I know this feeling won't last. Only three or four days and I've piled on program after program. Soon it will be slow.

Did you miss me?

Bugger me - it's been over a year since I last posted on here.
Currently on a drive to cut my weight. So far it's working.. I've lost 5½ kgs in the last 8 days. I don't usually talk in kgs but the app I was using wants the figure in kgs. I have a 5kg bag of sugar and that has been a major incentive for me in future to lose weight - knowing that I'm carrying all this extra weight around for no reason. I'm probably not doing things correctly as I'm more than likely losing too much weight at once - but I'm still eating more than an average person.

I take a note of everything I eat over the course of a day. Even count the teaspoons of sugar I use. I don';t count the coffee as there isn't any calories in that. Nor do I count the milk each time - I just use an average figure of 160 calories for milk over the course of a day.

Previously I was drinking 6 or 7 cups of coffee at least per day with 2½ teaspoons of sugar per cup. I'm now down to 2 or 3 cups a day with only 1 teaspoon of sugar. According to my 5kg bag of sugar there are 16 calories in a teaspoon of sugar so before it would be

Per day - 15 teaspoons, 240 calories
Per week - 105 teaspoons, 1680 calories

Now it is

Per day - 3 teaspoons, 48 calories
Per week - 21 teaspoons, 336 calories

That's quite a difference over the week.

Missed me by minutes

I had to get some milk today so visited Farmfoods. Place was packed as people were panic buying. They'd ran out of milk. I heard one woman on the phone saying saying she'd need to get to Morrisons or they'd be emptied out of milk next. I ventured back up to my flat.

The block next to mine I saw there was a window wide open on the first floor with a cat looking as though it was about to jump down on my face. Bear in mind it is freezing cold just now.

I dropped off the two or three things I bought at Farmfoods and went back out to go to Morrisons. I happened to look back and the spot on the pavement where I stopped to look up at the cat now had a cd player and a couple of speakers. The daft buggers have only gone and thrown it out the window. It was only when I was some distance away it dawned on me it had only missed me by a few minutes.

£12 worth of clothes in a year

Just been reviewing my spending for 2010 and realised I spent the grand total of £12 on clothes (which includes shoes I never bought). That £12 was spent back on the 31st January 2010. I bought two packs of socks for £3 each and "Mens Swea" for £6 - I have no idea what that is. I tgought it might be a sweatshirt but I don't remember buying that. And let's face it, if it's the only item of clothes I've bought in a year I should remember. I do remember buying a pack of two tee shirts but not sure when. It must have been that.

I've spent more on apps for my iphone in the last three months than I have on clothes in an entire year.

The MOT's on my car

Below are the dates of the MOT's on my car with the miles driven in brackets)

06 Sep 2007 24571 miles (bought car 2nd hand)
01 Sep 2008 28711 miles (4140 miles driven)
01 Sep 2009 31190 miles (2479 miles driven)
30 Aug 2010 32524 miles (1334 miles driven)

Today 32784 miles (260 miles since last MOT)

So in the three and a bit years I've had the car I've managed to drive 8213 miles.

And I still haven't reversed parked in a car park or reversed parked in between two cars.

The long pause

I'm getting irritated by the extra long pauses in reality tv shows. All of them have it. It's boring. Think up something new.

A bit more tidy
