Phunder and lightning

Today I heard the distant rumblings of thunder. This usuallly freezes me. I draw the curtains in my living room and lie down on my settee with my back to the window so I can't see any lightning. As I'm such a shitebag I didn't even go into my bedroom to close the window - wide open because it was so feckin' hot. So everything that was near the window was soaked (including some important documents - they didn't belong to me though so I'm not bothered). The lights dimmed and the TV went off - the telephone re-set itself - but it wasn't enough to re-start the computer. Though it did mess up the modem. I've already had one modem fried because of lightning and feared another one had gone the same way - but no, it still works. 39 years old and still scared (rephrase that - petrified) of lightning and thunder.

Odd socks - an old cliché

For a while I've had a pair of odd socks in my socks container. They are very similar in colour - and at times I get away with wearing them around the flat as no-one else will see me wearing them. Well, today I had a bit of joy. After sorting out the socks from the washing I noticed I had a pair of mismatched socks.....and a similar pair in the sock container - so lo and behold I now have two pairs of socks that are the same. Much rejoicing from me.
