Could this day get any worse

It's my birthday today but nothing has gone right since I woke up.

I had to print about 20 envelopes but my inkjet printer decided it didn't want to print them. Oh yeah - I was in a hurry to get them printed so having to reboot the old computer a few times when your in a mad rush isn't much fun. So I gave up and thought I'll print them on the laser printer....bit of a nuisance as I have to feed them in one at a time. First one printed off OK but the remainder decided they wanted to be printed on paper instead of the envelopes. So now I have to click each address in the database and then print the envelope. They were for the end of month payments to suppliers (I do the book-keeping for a restaurant near my flat). Normally I pay them down at the restaurant but it is a Bank Holiday today - and I noticed cars were parking up on my street....this is a sign that the town is fucking heaving with tourists if they have to park so far away from the main street. So I instead took the cheque book up to my flat to write them out. I'm bad enough round people as it is but on my birthday with my head about to exploded from rage I thought I'd better stay out the way.

Dextrose energy tablets
I haven't bought these in years (and I mean over 20 years). They were called Dextrosol back then. As I was in the chemist picking up a prescription I thought I'd enquire if they had any and lo and behold they were sitting right in front of me. So I bought three packets and it brought back memories.

I've just found out that the spell checker I use with this blog must be an American one as it doesn't believe that cheque is the correct spelling.

Must be unique in the music charts

Last weeks Singles Charts must have been something unique.

At number one was
F.U.R.B (better known as "Fuck U Right Back) by Frankee
This was a reply to the previous weeks number one
Fuck It - I don't want you back by Eamon

So essentially the same song (with different lyrics) remained at number one for 4 weeks (as it is #1 this weeks as well). The # 1 and # 2 both contained the naughty word "fuck". oooh errr.

Can't have happened too many times in the forty (??) odd years of the charts.

My ever expanding flask. The stopper in my flask keeps on breaking - and as they don't sell the stoppers on their own (at least I don't think the do) then I have to buy a completely new flask. But I tend to keep the plastic cup that comes with the older flask and screw it onto the newer one.....hence the expanding flask you see in this picture.

Mad midges

I was attacked by a mad midge tonight as I cycles home from the supermarket. I tend to forget that I've only got a bike with me when I'm at the supermarket and I buy too much. This time I had to even hold onto a bag with toilet roll in my right hand as I cycled home. Just as I was going uphill towards my flat a mad midge decided to fly straight into my eye. So I've got one had with toilet roll attached to it and my other had trying to keep they cycle straight and cars coming towards me and this mad midge trying to work its way into my eye socket. Life is fun.

RSS readers

As if I ddin't spend enough time as it is on the net I've now gone and installed an RSS reader so I get the latest news sent to my computer from various sites.

Well I'll be another year older in a few hours time. Brooke Shields will also be 104 years old.

Big Brother 5

So they've nominated the lesbo "Kitten" not to receive her suitcase. I had hoped that she'd have walked out in the huff at that point but it looks like she'll be staying.
Initially I didn't like Marco as I thought he was over the top with his campness but I'll give him a second chance as he may prove to be entertaining. Victor is vain beyond belief - and funny because of it. And he was the most honest when nominating Kitten.

Horses, applause and booing

What's been occupying my mind lately.....

Horses - are there as many about today as say 150 years ago when they were more needed? You see all these Western films on TV and they're prancing about on horses and I just try and wonder what it would be like in the UK. Were there the same amount of horses - and why do I even care?

Applause and booing - when did this start? Why did it start? How did it start?

How do I insert a link in a post that will open in a new browser window....without having to manually edit the post to put in the target="_blank" each time?

Music I never used to like

I've been thinking about music I never use to like that is now amongst my favourites. The Streets for instance.
http://www.the-streets.co.uk/
A year ago I'd never have thought I could have liked this type of music. In fact, I hated them (him ?) a year ago. But this latest album has gown on me. (Do they still call them albums even though they are cd's - or am I showing my age)

Faithless.
http://www.faithless.co.uk/
At least with Faithless I never hated them before - just never paid much attention to them - now I think they are the best thing since......the last thing I thought ws the best thing.

About 25 years ago while listening to the likes of Cr@ss, Poison Girls, Spizz Energi etc and other punk stuff I never thought I'd find myself liking the Carpenters or even listening to Barber's "Adagio for strings".

My wheelie bin - sitting on it's own in the back garden. There are other wheelie bins out there but I cropped them out of the picture. Posted by Hello

This is the view looking out of my living room window. Taken late one evening I had to take the picture because of the colour of the clouds. It's been my desktop wallpaper for a while now but has been obliterated with icons and shortcuts and files. The pointy thing in the middle is a church miles away (?? - it seems like it when I walk down there - though as I'm not a religious person I don't go in). Posted by Hello

Therapy

I've been thinking about why I write this blog. Who knows, maybe after a couple of weeks I expect it'll probably just die a natural death as I get bored of it. But at the moment it is very therapeutic to type down my random thoughts instead of them being jammed inside my head.

I really am getting old - I can't understand what young people are talking about anymore. I read other people's blogs and it's as if they are talking a different language. Some of the times I have to go to their profiles to see if they really are talking in a different language. It must have started with these fucking text messages you get with mobile phones....something I will never own. Shortening words and all that crap.

Well it's my birthday in a few days time. Another year has passed in my life. Another year the same as the last one.

Milk carton obsession

In the middle is the original milk carton. On the right it has the top cut off to use as a container. On the left the middle section is cut all the way through to give me plastic strip. I have a box full of these "plastic strips" - must be a few hundred in there. I don't know what is sadder - the fact I have an obsession about these milk cartons....or the fact I have taken a picture of the three stages of my milk carton's life....or even that I have posted on a weblog pictures of them. Gettalife Mr Kickdebucket ya fat bald git.

My obsession used to be even worse - I use to collect the coloured tops for the milk cartons and keep the different colours (and even shades of colours) seperate. How sad is that. Must take it from my mother - she's the same. Some of the stuff I've collected over the years is bordering on the "men in white coats are coming to take me away" category.

I can't be arsed creating a new post so I'll just add on to this one.
Abu Hamza (the guy with the hook instead of a hand) has been arrested in the UK awaiting extradition to America to face terrorism charges. The Yemen have been wanted the UK to extradite him for years but got nowhere but now the USA want him things go a lot faster. The UK have been wanting to deport him but can't until his appeal is heard must be overjoyed that they can now keep him behind bars until the extradition.
I'm not really a politically minded person - you can probably gather this from the previous paragraph.

Collecting obsession

My kitchen is being swallowed up by my collection of empty milk cartons. I don't know why I keep them. They are cleaned out and some of them I cut the middle strip of them - for what purpose is a mystery. For a different size I cut the top off of them and use the remainder as containers. I think I'll post a picture to show what I mean.

Flat above me is up for sale

Just looked out my window and saw one of those posts advertising property for sale. The flat directly above me I think. I assume it is - I'll find out when I go outside and look up at their window to see if there is any for sale signs in it. Someone was trying keys in MY door the other day and when I went to the door they asked if this was the flat for sale. I assumed they were trying to break in and just using that as an excuse so I attacked them (better rephrase that for legal reasons), I defended my property with a baseball bat. Damn - it appears as though they were telling the truth. Should I own up - I also need the space in the freezer they're taking up.

Brigitte Bardot

Brigitte Bardot - do I need an excuse to post her picture on my blog.

Just thought I'd move her picture up to the top again - click on the picture for a larger version.

Viruses

Viruses
Why am I getting so many viruses these days. They are all the same one as well....subject line is always either "important" or "instructions" and the attached file is always a zip. Do these twats honestly think I'm going to open a zip from someone I don't even know? Shit, I don't even open zips from people I do know unless I have requested the zip myself. Can they not be a bit more original? Change the subject line a bit more?

Soggy cornflakes.
Forgot all about the cornflakes I poured earlier and now they are soggy. Still, I'm hungry and they are going to get a bit more than soggy by the time they come out the other end.

Radical cleric Abu Hamza arrested

From the BBC News website
Preacher Abu Hamza to face court

Radical Muslim preacher Abu Hamza al-Masri is to appear before magistrates in the first stage of a process to extradite him to the United States.
The 47-year-old was seized by police at his home in west London at 0300 BST on Thursday.

Mr Abu Hamza, who preaches outside the Finsbury Park mosque in north London, is wanted for questioning in the US in connection with terrorism allegations.

He is currently appealing against removal of his UK citizenship.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said Mr Abu Hamza's home was being searched by anti-terrorist officers under the Extradition Act 2003.

The street near the house is cordoned off and a number of items have been seized, including videos, documents and a briefcase.

BBC social affairs correspondent Daniel Sandford said the extradition was said to relate to terrorism.

Thursday's hearing before Bow Street magistrates sitting at Belmarsh will determine whether Mr Abu Hamza is granted bail.

The US authorities have been collecting evidence against Mr Abu Hamza and this was likely to be the start of a lengthy court battle, he added.

It is likely to be several months before a formal committal hearing at which a district judge will look at the evidence and decide whether it is strong enough for extradition.

The Egyptian-born preacher is at the centre of a deportation battle with the Home Office, which wants to remove his citizenship, gained through marriage in 1981.

The government claims that he has provided support and advice to terrorist groups, including al-Qaida.

He had been a regular preacher at the Finsbury Park mosque until he was banned by the Charity Commission in February 2003.

It accused him of abusing his position for "personal and political, rather than charitable purposes".

But Mr Abu Hamza has continued to preach to worshippers outside the mosque, which was closed for repairs after a police raid in January 2003.

His controversial sermons have attracted much hostility from sections of the press and he has been criticised by many British Muslim leaders.

But Iqbal Sacranie, secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, said it was still important that the principle of "innocent until proven guilty" be observed.

"He has certainly made provocative statements... but we need to be very clear [about the difference] between those remarks, that are perhaps deeply offensive to us, and whether there has been a breach of law," he told BBC News.

"I think for any British citizen, irrespective of where you come from, what your feelings are, what your thoughts are, the law should be applied equally."

Mr Abu Hamza's lawyer, Muddassar Arani, said she had been surprised by the arrest and knew nothing of the charges.

She spoke to her client by telephone and said: "He is quite calm about it. He said: 'Take your time and come down whenever you can'."

She told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that extradition would have to be based on something that had happened in the US.

"I really can't comment on what is being alleged to have happened in America," she said.

I'll be glad to see that back of that prat.

www.sugarboy.co.uk - Everybody's Favourite Sweets

I think I may need to come back to this site and buy some "Victory V's" or some "Fisherman's Friends". I wonder if they do "Oddfellows" as well.

Why was I thinking of these....Well something that just popped into my head.

I remember when I was young being given dextrosol. In fact I liked them that much I'm sure I sometimes bought them at the chemists to eat as sweets. I don't know why I was originally given them. I thought it might have been travel sickness or something like that. When I did a google on dextrosol it has all these websites on diabetes which I've never had.

Talking of travel sickness, anytime we had to go on a long journey as kids (on holiday) we would have to take these travel sickness pills. I can't for the life of me remember their name now. But they tasted awful and we'd refuse to take them. So my mother would have to crush them up and mix them with sugar. Or she'd have to secretly put them in something we were eating as we'd never take them voluntarily.

And they do sell "Oddfellows". MARVELOUS

Sore back

I've got an unbelievably sore back just now. What good things did I do today......Well, all these clothes that no longer fit me (the ones that shrunk because of the chemicals introduced into the water supply) I've got put into bags for taking away to the recycling bank sometime. God knows why I haven't done it before. Maybe now that the Council has finally got round to kerbside recycling for glass and paper has prompted my consciousness. My ever decreasing flat might have a bit more space now.

Current favorite song Strange Glue (Catatonia) (still)
Watching on TV Some unknown crap documentary (BBC2)

Great having a choice of only four channels. Digital won't be available here until 2010 (possibly). Can't even get Channel 5. Can't afford satellite.

Japanese Text Display Support

I've just downloaded "Japanese Text Display Support". For years now I keep on getting requests to download this any time I visit a Japanese website and I've always cancelled. Just now I agreed to the download and I haven't a clue why. i mean it's not as if I'm going to understand what's written anyway. The only japanese lettering I might understand was if they repeated the "anti-war" symbol that Cr@ss gave away as a free patch with their "Nagasaki Nightmare" single.

A forking huge spider has just climbed down the wall next to the computer. Jesus - it gave me the creeps.

e-mails waiting to be downloaded

148 e-mails on my usually spam free account......most e-mails from a football mailing list that I haven't downloaded for five days now.

94 e-mails on my original e-mail account. Once I have deleted the spam and e-mails from a mailing list I hardly ever read I might be left with about 6 I'll bother to read.

Why do I get so much shite to deal with?
Why do I ask so many questions?
Why am I up at 2am and I still haven't been fed today?
Current favourite song Strange Glue (Catatonia)
Watching on TV Inferno (BBC1)
(I've got to say this film is the biggest pile of pish I've ever witnessed......and I've witnessed a lot of pish in my time)

What the hell are they putting in the water these days?
I've just had to throw out about 12 pairs of trousers because they have shrunk due to chemicals that must have been put in the water. I should sue the Water Board.

It was strange glue that held us together
While we both came apart at the seams
She said, 'Your place or mine
While we've still got the time'
So I played along with her schemes

But I don't have the right to be with you tonight
So please leave me alone with no saviour in sight
I will sleep safe and sound with nobody around me

When faced with my demons
I clothe them and feed them
And I smile, yes I smile
As they're taking me over
And if I cannot sleep for the secrets I keep
It's the price I'm willing to meet
The end of the night never comes too quickly for me

But I don't have the right to be with you tonight
So please leave me alone with no saviour
I will sleep safe and sound with nobody around me
When faced with my demons
I clothe them and feed them
And I'll smile, yes I'll smile
As they're taking me over
And if I cannot sleep for the secrets I keep
It's the prize I'm willing to steal
Oh the end of the night never comes too quickly for me

And I smile . . .
The end of the night never comes too quickly for me
I smile, smile, I smile as they're taking me over
I smile A
The end of the night never comes too quickly for me
Never comes too quickly for me

How very true!!!!

David Beckham

Why the fuck was this dickhead the main item of news on ITV tonight? So he doesn't want to speak to Sky News or the News of the World. So fucking what. There must surely be something more important in the news today. Isn't there some sort of war going on in Iraq or was I just imagining it?

SA-UK

SA-UK

This is where I spend a lot of my time. In fact I'm just going to post on that forum that I have created a blog.

Cramp

Here's what I don't understand.

Why is it when I get drunk (which is extremely rare these days) that I get a feeling of cramp is about to appear in my left leg. I feel as if I stretch it too much then I will get that annoying cramp feeling. And why is it that my hangovers last two or three days?

Removing photies

How the hell do I remove pictures I've uploaded to "Bloggerbot". I mean, I don't want the whole world to be able to see the pictures of me and the goat gettting a little bit friendly. But as I can see other people's pictures it means they will be able to see mine....even after I have removed the post from my blog.

Cut this out from your screen and spend it wisely.

The aptly named "Bath Street".

I'm going to start telling lies

If nobody reads my profile soon I'm going to start teling lies to make myself sound interesting. Nobody will be any the wiser. Of course I have been lying all along with the title. I'm not really fat and bald - I just look fat ad bald.

Season's almost over

Football season's almost over......thank fuck. Imagine getting getting beat 1-9 and 0-9 in the same season. Best we can hope for is 4th in the league but we'll probably stay 6th.

Why is everyone's blog better than mine.

Is everyone a web designer or something and knows how to make their blogs look interesting.

Hard for hours
Title of an e-mail that's just been sent to me. No doubt it will end up in the bin before I even open it.

Double rollover

It's a double rollover on the lottery this Wednesday. £13M. I think I'll waste my £1 in the hope of winning. It could be me!!!!! My arse.

It's Tuesday, it's 1pm and it's crackerjack

Something not quite right about that.

It's 1pm. This is the first week the council are meant to be collecting the stuff for recycling at the kerbside. I had a fucking mountain of papers for them and there still not lifted. Time for some cornflakes.

What is is about blogs that makes people just type utter shite?
